CHICOS Analysiscut2

Running analysiscut2 on old data:

This version of analysiscut2 uses different limits on phi, which seems to help avoid getting stuck at phi=0,theta=0. It also has a cut on data farther than 20 us away from the trigger.

I am updating autoFit4 to hopefully make it able to go through the list of new showers and find a new set of best candidates automatically. Changes include:

• Cut on radius at 10 km.
• Cut on time at 20 us.
• After first reconstruction, deletes hits outside 2-sigma time errors. (There is no requirement that the reconstruction match the intensity well.) Repeats reconstruction and checks again. (Generally one iteration is all that is required.)
• Ignores showers that have fewer than 3 match sites that reconstruct within 2-sigma error bars. (Currently does not check whether the trigger site reconstructs well.)

To get an idea of how this code performs, I ran it on the current set of 120 Best Candidate showers. The breakdown of what passed and what didn't is as follows:

• 96 CHICOS showers pass
• 1 is reclassified as Chiquita
• 3 fail the new analysiscut2 because they depend on a match at >20 us:

• 2 fail the new analysiscut2 for unknown reasons (these were also missing from the last version of analysiscut2):

• 18 showers pass analysiscut2 but do not have 3 match sites with hits that reconstruct within 2-sigma error bars:
• 01-19-03 Sample reconstruction ignores a healthy unhit site.
• 03-03-03 Has 3-site sample reconstruction.
• 05-15-03 Two hits are early by ~5 us.
• 03-01-04 One site off by 2us, one by 4 us. Looks ok though.
• 02-01-05 One hit off by ~3 us; otherwise ok.
• 02-16-05 Has 3-site sample reconstruction.
• 07-16-05 One hit off by 4 us, one off by 7 us.
• 08-09-05 One site off by 4 us, one by 6 us.
• 09-20-05 Should pass. Including Chandler throws off the fit?
• 09-23-05 Can get good fit by removing 2 hits at 0129 and using START.
• 10-21-05 Need to use SOTC to get a good fit.
• 11-16-05 One hit early by 6 us; otherwise ok.
• 01-02-06 One hit late by 4 us; otherwise ok.
• 03-21-06 Loses 1 hit (>20 us away).
• 05-15-06 One hit off by 5 us, one by 7 us.
• 06-19-06 One hit off by 12 us.
• 06-23-06 One hit off by 5 us.
• 09-10-06 Fit with v. 235 was better.
