Front Panel v3.1

This page documents the Labview VI Front Panel v3.1 source code. I have made some cosmetic changes, but the program is functionally equivalent to v3.0 (the current standard).

The following image is the user interface of the Front Panel. For information how to use the Front Panel, see Sandy Horton-Smith's User Manual.

The Front Panel VI is responsible for running the DAQ subprograms, saving data to the appropriate files, displaying the current status of the system and logging changes and alarms.

Selected parts of the Labview code are documented here.

Outer Sequence:
AcuClock.vi is called. Variables are initialized.
The program start is logged. Livetime and trigger variables are initialized.

Inner Sequence A:
Loops which check for interaction with the panel are executed.
Data and History files are created. Global variables are initialized.

Inner Sequence B, C:
The DAQ sub-vi is called. If "read buffer" is True, file paths are passed into the next iteration.

Inner Sequence D:
If "read buffer" is False, "read data is set to True.

Inner Sequence E, F:
Each day, filenames are changed, and logs are reset.

One-second variables are updated.

Inner Sequence G:
If the "stop" variable becomes True, the program enters a new sub-sequence.
The sub-vi Find Coinc runs.
Global time variables are reset if necessary.
Clock ticks are converted to nanoseconds.
Histograms are updated.
Logarithmic histograms are updated.
Every minute, trigger and coincidence data is updated.
Alarms are updated.
The Logs are updated.

One-second variables are reset.

"read data" is reset to False.

If "too many pulses" is True, the error is recorded in the counter error log.

Checks the values of "# right PC clock", "# of sat", and the control "stop all?"

Note: This program calls many sub-programs, which are not detailed here, but which I plan to be document in the near future.
